Do you have a severe persistent mental illness you’re trying to live with? Are you homeless (or at risk), struggling with addiction or mental health issues, and needing an affordable and safe place to live?

This program offers housing that stays matched to your income. Once your housing needs are met, this frees up time and energy to focus on building a fulfilling and stable life for yourself.

Services:

Safe and affordable housing
Case management
Help applying for food stamps, birth certificate, employment, education, and social services
Access to funding and support opportunities
Referrals to additional resources and programs

What is the program like?

We have a fixed number of available slots, and will place you as slots become available. You pay 30% of your income to us for rent, and we subsidize the rest. This program is designed mainly for single people, however exceptions can be made for single parents.

As a client of MHA, you also receive case management services and additional support. If you’re at immediate risk of homelessness, we have other support options for you as well.

How do I participate?

The first step is to give Priscilla a call at 845 473 2500 ext. 3018. You’ll get connected to a case manager who will assess your needs and complete an intake packet.

Participants must meet SPOA criteria, or be coming out of a state facility, psychiatric hospital, or community residence. Referrals must be made by case managers or clinicians. If you’re unsure how to apply or whether you qualify, just give us a call and we’ll help you out!
