CASA Program Assistant

Part Time 17.5 hours per week.  

Case Coordination (CASA/OVS)

(b) Coordinate, document, and channel all CASA requests until resolution.

(c) Provide assistance and consultation as needed and when requested.

(d) Consult with SAS Director, then CASA/NYS or NCASAA about problems or concerns.

(e) All data entry in VOCA/OMH portal, CASA Manager, and OPTIMA for CASA and VAP applications.

(f) All other activities required to coordinate CASA/OVS cases.

III. Program Activities

                (a) Attend all required program coordinators’ meetings as they are scheduled by CASAOVS.

(b) Assist in public education about volunteer program.

(c) Attend monthly Support and Advocacy Staff meetings and all All-Staff meetings.

(d) Prepare and submit all required monthly and quarterly reporting for the program.

(e) Maintain accurate demographic statistics and report monthly to Compeer Inc. and quarterly to Director    of SAS

(f) Maintain good relations with stakeholders: DSS, Family Court, attorneys, etc.

  1. Contribution

                (a) Actively participate in the cooperative efforts of the division.

                (b) Participate in activities which contribute to the overall welfare of the Association.

                (c) Perform other duties as assigned by SAS Director or Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

             (a)   Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field or Associates and 3 years’ experience in a social service field.

             (b)  Three years’ experience in program coordination and/or human services required.

             (c)  Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis due to child abuse and neglect.

                   Similarly, with adults who have mental illness and their families. Experience working with such families        preferred.

             (d)  Previous OVS experience preferred.

             (e)  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
