Teen Challenge Program Assistant

This position is 10 hours per week, $18.00/hr.

Part time 10 hours per week*.

*7 hours are flexible and Thursday hours: 3 pm – 6pm, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm, or 4pm -7 pm

Duties: The Program Assistant assists the Teen Challenge Program Specialist in operating the Teen Challenge Program, meeting weekly for life skills lessons, community service activities and recreation. The Teen Challenge Program serves youth, ages 14-18, with Social, Emotional and Behavioral challenges and are in counseling. In addition, provides transportation as needed to and from the Teen Challenge group.

T.C. Program Facilitation:

  1. Assists with recruitment, screening enrollment and intake of eligible participants.
  2. Assists with organizing and implementation of the TC activities. (life skills lessons, community service outings, and recreation)
  3. Ensure the safety of the teen participants.
  4. Engage teens in activities that increase their social skills.
  5. Consult with the Program Specialist with regard to issues requiring appropriate interventions or involving uncertainty.
  6. Provide input and feedback with regard to teen member’s behavior.
  7. Assist in program development utilizing knowledge of needs gained through services to families.

Reporting:

  1. Assist in maintaining current records of services provided in the Teen Challenge Program, to include EHR.
  2. Submit time in ADP and other agency documentation in a timely manner.
  3. Attend all required trainings, supervision meetings, Department and Agency Meetings.

Contribution: 

  1. Actively participates in the cooperative effort of the division.
  2. Participates in activities, which contribute to overall welfare of the agency.
  3. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Support Services.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Knowledge of recreational activities and child development required.
  3. Experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Behavioral Challenges preferred.
  4. Energetic, self- starting, motivated individual, able to work flexible hours.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skill required.
  6. Must have a clean license with at least 3 years driving experience
