Are you a parent or caregiver to a child between 2 and 12 who reacts often with explosive and aggressive outbursts? Does your child seem like he or she only knows one way to react: with anger? This workshop not only teaches you to solve conflicts with your child peacefully, it helps reduce future outbursts by helping him or her acquire the social and emotional skills required to be comfortable in all domains of life.

What is the program like?

The program provides information, skill-building exercises, and group support. The people who attend the classes are family members and caregivers who are looking for more effective ways for dealing with very challenging and sometimes even frightening behaviour.

I am the Education and Training Coordinator at MHA Dutchess. I teach numerous parenting classes on special topics which help parents and caregivers to better understand and manage behavior challenges for children and teenagers. I also coordinate staff trainings that range from community programs and resources to special topics such as Trauma Informed Care and Narcan training. I love teaching and having the opportunity to bring inspiring and enlightening information to the community and staff. I truly believe information is power.
