The Living Room at Mel’s Place

The Living Room at Mel’s Place provides a safe haven, hot food, showers, and more to individuals and families who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless and struggle with mental health and/or substance abuse. MHADC staff members offer support including referrals for housing and employment and help with addiction and health benefits. Representatives of the Veteran’s Administration visit once a week to assist vets with benefits and services. No appointments are needed.

Mel’s Place is at the Family Partnership Center, 29 North Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie.

New for 2017: Mel’s Place is now open 365 days a year from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, contact Vernae Johnson at 845-473-2500.
