Are you attending (or about to attend) Dutchess Community College? Are you recovering from a psychiatric disability or an addiction disorder? Could you use a little extra support on campus?

Our Supported Education Program will allow you to make the most of your college experience by helping you get adjusted and connected to useful services. Achieve your educational goals, build strong relationships, and stay happy and healthy throughout!

Services:

  • One-on one support from the program coordinator
  • Campus tour
  • Assistance with application, registration, & financial aid forms
  • Links to tutoring, coping skills, and special accommodations as needed
  • Individual services tailored to your individual needs

What is the program like?

You start off by meeting one-on-one with a coordinator to discuss your situation and explore options to help you get the best experience possible out of your time at DCC. We’re here to help you succeed. We’ll also connect you to other staff at DCC who offer programs or services that might help.

How do I participate?

To register, you must already be enrolled in the ACCES-VR program. If you’re not, you can explore and register for that program separately. After being referred by your ACCES-VR counselor, our Supported Education Coordinator will contact you and set up an appointment.

Supported Education

I have been with MHA since 2009. I am the Program Specialist for the Sibling Support groups. I have held that position since August 2015. Prior to that, I ran The Kid’s Inc. program, along with providing one-on-one respite. I am also the Supported Education Coordinator, working with referred ACCES/VR students attending Dutchess Community College.
