Raising Responsible, Resilient, Self-Sufficient Teens

Are you currently raising a teenager? Do you want to be proactive in teaching them the skills they need to thrive, and preparing them to face the coming challenges with grace?

This workshop will help you prepare your teens to live life well. We’ll help you understand common problems, as well as how to effectively lead your teen into young adulthood.

Workshop Topics:

  • Best practices for helping your teen make good decisions

  • How to navigate setting boundaries

  • Understanding when your teen is “ready” for something

What is the program like?

This program isn’t just about what to do—it’s about how to do it. You’ll work with the instructor and other participants to develop specific skills, access group support, work through scenarios, and share experiences. Course material is based on the book Letting Go by Kenneth Ginsburg and Susan Fitzgerald.

How do I participate?

For upcoming workshop dates, see the calendar below. For more information or to register, call Marlene at 845-473-2500 x1309.

Marlene Taylor, MPS,
I am the Education and Training Coordinator at MHA. I teach numerous parenting classes on special topics which help parents and caregivers to better understand and manage behavior challenges for children and teenagers. I also coordinate staff trainings that range from community programs and resources to special topics such as Trauma Informed Care and Narcan training. I love teaching and having the opportunity to bring inspiring and enlightening information to the community and staff. I truly believe information is power.
